Cameron and Kate met through her cousin during a family camping trip. Her cousin kept saying how they would “hit it off” so he brought Cameron up to a campfire one night. Cameron was slower to warm up at first, but after some time talking (and some liquid courage), they knew there was something between them. After their first date, it was history from there. They have been together for 6 years. Neither Cameron nor Kate are into grand gestures. For their proposal, they had a low-key morning at home right after Thanksgiving.  He went into the bedroom and grabbed the ring and came out into the living room and got down on one knee and proposed. They were in their pajamas, and it was perfect.

Kate was born and raised in Estes and Cameron is from Loveland. Estes Park is one of the most beautiful places on earth and all of their family lives in and around the area as well so it made perfect sense for them to get married here! Kate grew up right down the road from Taharaa. She passed it about 1,000 times and always thought it was a beautiful lodge! Initially, they were thinking of renting an Airbnb but none stood out to them. The couple toured Taharaa, and it checked every box and more!

Intimate Summer Wedding

When it came to their design inspiration, they had a very open mind and no particular theme. They told the florist they were going for dusty summer colors and let her go from there. They knew Meghan at Enchanted Florist would do a fabulous job so they let her do what she thought would look the best. Their wedding day turned out better than she had hoped. A simple yet elegant look to the tables and their whole afternoon.

Looking back, their favorite part of their wedding day was going and doing pictures after they got married. They went down to the road leading to Cheeley camp, and it was pretty private, with only a few passersby. Everyone who did pass honked and yelled congratulations! The horses in the meadow came up to them and ate part of Kate’s bouquet. It was a sweet twist to their afternoon.
