Hosting and planning a wedding weekend in Estes Park is a great way to make sure your guests have the best experience. Typically our couples have guests who are coming from out of state, so having a wedding weekend planned for them is the perfect way to make them feel welcome and make sure they are able to enjoy their time in Estes Park. Here are a few tips on creating a memorable wedding weekend in Estes Park.
Create A List of Activities For Your Wedding Weekend in Estes Park
Many of the couples who get married here in Estes Park are planning a destination wedding, so many of their guests are visiting for the first time. We love when couples make welcome bags for guests that include local items such as taffy, jerky, honey, etc. This way they get a taste of Estes Park! To make the wedding weekend enjoyable for your guests, make a list of fun things to do around Estes Park! Here are a few of our favorite must-do activities:
- RMNP
- Mountain Roller Coaster
- Local Breweries
- Shopping downtown
- Thursday morning Farmer’s Market (summer months)
- Golf
Have A Welcome Reception and Farewell Brunch
Set up a get-together for ALL your wedding guests after the rehearsal dinner. This could be at a brewery or local watering hole. This way you don’t have to buy dinner for all of your out-of-town guests, but can still get together with them prior to the wedding. Estes Park has quite a few bars and breweries. Our few favorites are Lonigans, The Wheel Bar, and The Barrel. Lonigans is an Irish Pub and Saloon and a favorite spot here in Estes Park. The Wheel Bar offers two private spaces for welcome drinks or even rehearsal dinners! The Barrel has a large outdoor seating area, so it is perfect for Spring and Summer weddings.
After the wedding, get the guests together one last time with a farewell brunch or breakfast! There are many location in town that offer options.
Get Ready At Taharaa Mountain Lodge
Most of our couples chose to stay the whole weekend in one of our suites.
Our wedding packages include two nights lodging in a Honeymoon Suite, but sometimes couples decide to stay an extra week for their honeymoon! We have two suites perfect for a romantic week away.
The Taharaa Suite has a Southwestern Theme and features a double-sided fireplace in the living room. It also has a private patio, so you can enjoy the stunning views. The Cattle Baron Suite is our largest and features high ceilings and a Mountain View. There is even a wet bar and fireplace!
Many of our brides decide to have a hair and make-up team come to their location and help the bridal party get ready for the big day. We offer space for both parties to get ready, right on-site which makes planning simple and convenient.
Have Guests Stay At The Taharaa Mountain Lodge
If you are having an intimate wedding or elopement, have your guests stay right on site!
We do not have Lyft or Uber here, so transportation can be more difficult. So, if you have a smaller wedding, have your whole wedding weekend right here at Taharaa Mountain Lodge! We have 18 rooms, and each accommodates 2 adults. We do require a three-night stay, but this will let your guests really enjoy Estes Park and our amenities at the Lodge. We offer an outdoor Hot Tub, and our restaurant on-site, Twin Owls Steakhouse, has an award-winning chef! While children are allowed on site for Weddings and events, we are an adult-only lodge. This means no children under the age of 13 can stay the night, so be sure to plan for this.
Planning a wedding weekend in Estes Park is perfect if you are wanting your wedding to be an event you and your guests will never forget. There are so many options for creating memorable experiences with so much to do and see. Here at Taharaa Mountain Lodge, we aim to make planning your entire wedding weekend simple from start to finish from our lodging options to our on-site restaurant.
