Emily and Kyle’s love story began in college at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. The two met while performing in the school opera and connected a few years later after mutual college roommates got engaged. It really was meant to be. After a few foiled plans, the third proposal truly sealed the deal. The two went for a nice dinner and walk in the park complete with a romantic picnic set up. It was a family (and dog!) affair and Emily said yes in front of all of their loved ones.
Classic and Romantic Wedding in Estes Park
With family close in Fort Collins, the couple frequented Estes Park every summer to hike and enjoy Rocky Mountain National Park. The town holds a special place in their hearts. The two agreed that they wanted a destination that was accessible and beautiful for family and friends to venture to. The couple could not dream up a more perfect place.
Emily and Kyle went on a few tours in Estes Park, but we were ultimately blown away by Taharaa’s staff, venue, food, as well as the option for lodging. The ease of having the ceremony space, and reception spot in one location was very important. The couple enjoyed having the family at the lodge as it felt like an intimate weekend celebration.
A favorite memory was the couples’s first look at Lily Lake which is located right down the road from the lodge. Emily was appreciative of the staff and ease of having a true one stop shop for her wedding day.
