Victoria and Zachary got married in a real life snow globe on a dreamy winter day in Estes Park. This winter wedding was made complete with Taharaa’s enclosed reception space featuring mountain views while the snow fell on the valley.
Their love story began in Wisconsin through mutual friends. The two didn’t actually connect until the end of their time at the UW Madison. As both had summer plans of traveling Europe coming up, they weren’t necessarily looking to start a relationship, however, fate had other ideas. After keeping things causal with travels ,the two officially started dating. Life took them to the Denver area where they fell in love with the mountains learning to ski and rock climb together which remain two of the favorite things to do.
Zach’s family invited Victoria to join the family vacation to Kauai in May. Victoria had her suspicions that this special trip could be the proposal. On the second day of the vacation, the group hiked to Zach’s favorite beach in Kauai. Zach’s family was in on the surprise even mentioning that this hike would end in some family photos. The couple had a few pictures taken of just the two of them when suddenly Zach surprised Victoria by getting down on one knee as his family captured the moment and her reaction. They all celebrated by playing in the waves and drinking whiskey on the beach together making for a memorable end to a perfect day.
Estes Park was a natural choice for the two as Zach grew up elk hunting near Estes valley, while also visiting the area with friends over his summers during college. They two mutually wanted their wedding guests to truly experience the incredible natural beauty of their home in Colorado, and felt that Estes Park was the perfect place to do so. They also appreciated that it’s proximity to the Denver airport as most of the guests were making the trip from out of state to celebrate the couple.
Taharaa Mountain Lodge made sense as well the two as they fell in love with the stunning mountain views and rustic, cozy and elegant feel. They were impressed with the excellent food and drink options, welcoming and accommodating staff, and value. They fell in love immediately with the overall mountain vibe of the dining area and started to envision how the reception would feel in the space. As the snow fell during the ceremony, the couple couldn’t help but notice how sacred the moment felt. The reception to follow was the perfect blend cozy, warm, elegant, and fun!
