Tressa and Ryan’s Snow Filled Spring Wedding

Tressa and Ryan’s snow-filled spring wedding turned out to be a day that was filled with love. The couple met when they were in school. A couple of years later, Tressa moved back to Denver after graduating college. Around the same time, Ryan moved to Denver after dropping out of seminary when he decided not to become a priest (thank goodness!). Ryan proposed at the top of Mother Cabrini Shrine in Golden, Colorado. Tressa and Ryan hiked to the top early in the morning, where Tressa’s friend was waiting at the top to take pictures, hidden behind the statue and wearing a disguise! She caught the proposal on camera, and the pictures turned out great from her hiding place, with the mountains in the background.

Tressa grew up in the Denver suburbs and always considered the mountains to feel most like home. Ryan and Tressa both individually visited Estes Park over the years and loved it. They chose to be married in Estes Park because, in addition to being a unique and beautiful mountain town, it has the most beautiful Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Mountains, which is where they had their wedding ceremony.

They chose Taharaa for their wedding venue because of the stunning views, the string lights, the antler chandeliers, the wooden beams, and the stone fireplace. It was the perfect venue for their rustic wedding theme.  Having their wedding planned for what turned out to be one of the biggest snowstorms in Denver history, their wedding theme soon turned into just enjoying every crazy moment of the adventure! They loved taking everything as it came because the most important thing was doing it together, not about having things be perfect. That’s what marriage is all about after all, actually weathering the storm, and in this case a snow storm!
