For the past two decades, the Twin Owls Steakhouse has offered the premiere fine dining and event experience in the Estes Valley. Owned and operated by Sandra Huerta and Thad Eggen for the past seven years, the Steakhouse was established by Ed Grueff in 1999, and continued under the care of Jim and Jennie Edwards until 2011. A favorite destination for new arrivals to the Valley and old friends alike, the Steakhouse offers an atmosphere that combines the splendor of a rocky mountain lodge with the finest food and service, and a staff devoted to ensuring that every guest has an experience to remember.

Now, as we celebrate twenty wonderful years, we are already hard at work on making the next twenty just as memorable. This will be the Steakhouse’s last summer on the grounds of the Black Canyon Inn; beginning in the spring of 2020, we will have officially relocated to the Taharaa Mountain Lodge, now under the proud ownership of Sandra and Thad. We are so grateful to Ed Grueff, Jim Sloan, and all the other members of the Black Canyon Inn team who have helped to make our time on MacGregor Avenue so amazing, and we’re so excited to welcome all of our guests to the Twin Owls’ new home at the Taharaa. Showcasing some of the most spectacular views in the Estes Valley, and offering all the amenities and comforts of a world-class, 18-room bed and breakfast, we could not imagine a better home for the Valley’s finest dining and special event venue.

We hope you’ll have the chance to come and visit the log cabin before the year is out, and we hope to see you many more times in the years to come as we make the Taharaa our new home. Thank you so much for all your years of support and patronage, and let’s make the next two decades even more memorable!
