Whether you’re heading to town for a stay at the Taharaa Mountain Lodge or elk-watching in the hills, Estes Park offers tons to do. Of course, among the most favorite activities found on Main Street is shopping. With so many stores to choose from, knowing where to go is key. The following are a few of our favorites:
Patterson Glassworks
Patterson Glassworks Studio and Gallery may not be an ideal place if you’re shopping with kids, but if you’re looking for blown glass, this store just might blow your mind. Its selection is highly unique, filled with pieces you won’t find anywhere else, and mixes and matches the practical with the decorative.
Brownfield’s
Brownfield’s is a favorite among locals. A seasonal business that opens on Memorial Day weekend, this shop prides itself on fair prices, friendly customer service, and high-quality goods. While it once focused on selling western wear, cowboy boots, and saddles, it now focuses on the outdoor lifestyle. Even if you don’t plan to shop, it’s the place to go for information on the best hiking trails in the area.
The Taffy Shop
The Taffy Shop is a traditional stop for many visitors (and locals!) to Estes Park. It may be the bane of braces-wearing teenagers, but it’s a tasty treat for nearly everyone else. The Taffy Shop has been open since 1935 and sells classical flavors, as well as specialty creations. For those with a sweet tooth that can’t seem to be satisfied, it also offers a taffy of the month club.
MacDonald Book Shop
MacDonald Book Shop was established more than 100 years ago and offers a wide range of fiction, nonfiction, classics, new releases, and local guides of our town and the greater Rocky Mountain National Park. The store hosts release parties and author signings and regularly recommends books with plots set in or near Estes Park.
Wildhorse Gift Shop
Wildhorse Gift Shop offers a wide selection of souvenirs and gifts, including many made by local Coloradans. If you’re looking for t-shirts, jewelry, collectibles, artwork, jam, and more, it’s a must-shop. It’s also well known for its collection of aluminum animals; made from recycled material, these statues are an excellent way to give your yard character.
Estes Park is known for its shopping. While there are many places worth visiting, you can’t go wrong with the spots listed here. Stop by and see why a good time is in the bag.
