Nestled in the heart of the Rockies, Taharaa Mountain Lodge is more than just a venue; it’s a sanctuary where love stories unfold amidst nature’s grandeur. On September 18th, 2023, we had the pleasure of hosting the wedding of Morgan Schake and Mark Anderson, a couple whose journey from academia to adventure culminated in a celebration of love at our lodge.
Their story began in the halls of graduate school, where Morgan and Mark’s paths first crossed. What started as a friendship rooted in shared academic pursuits soon blossomed into a love that would withstand the tests of time and distance.
Mark’s proposal encapsulated their shared love for adventure. While backpacking and hiking in the Indian Peak Wilderness, he chose the shores of one of their favorite alpine lakes as the backdrop for a momentous occasion. With the mountains as witnesses, Mark asked Morgan to spend forever by his side, and she joyfully accepted.
When it came time to choose a location for their wedding, Estes Park, Colorado, held a special place in their hearts. Its majestic landscapes and serene beauty provided the perfect setting for their love story to unfold.
As for why they chose Taharaa Mountain Lodge, Morgan and Mark were drawn not only to the breathtaking views but also to the warm hospitality of our team. Meeting with Beth and indulging in a delightful tasting sealed the deal, making Taharaa the obvious choice for their special day.
Inspired by the season of their engagement, Morgan and Mark’s wedding embraced the rustic charm of fall in the mountains. Surrounded by the golden hues of autumn, they exchanged vows, promising to navigate life’s adventures together.
Reflecting on their favorite memories from the day, Morgan and Mark fondly recalled the joy of their rehearsal and the delight of having their loved ones stay at the lodge. And of course, no wedding is complete without mentioning the food – which they described as nothing short of amazing.
Their special day wouldn’t have been possible without the talented vendors who brought their vision to life. From Fanciful’s stunning florals to Jay the DJ’s infectious tunes, each vendor played a crucial role in creating a day to remember.
