Kelly and Josh’s Intimate Romantic Outdoor Wedding

Our couple met when Kelly was working as an ER nurse at Tampa General Hospital in Florida. Josh is a Special Forces Combat Medic in the Army and did his clinical rotations there. When it came time to propose, Josh popped the question at Garden of the Gods on top of Balanced Rock. He had their closest friends hold up signs that he made asking “Will you marry me?” He also had flowers and rose petals spread around the area. He walked Kelly up the rock with her eyes closed, and when he told her to open her eyes, he was down on one knee! Such a great love story!

Intimate wedding at Taharaa Mountain Lodge

Kelly and Josh chose to host their intimate wedding at Taharaa Mountain Lodge because they had fallen in love with Estes Park when they visited in the past, and they wanted gorgeous mountain views. Estes Park is such a peaceful little mountain town with a nice, laid-back vibe that really fit with what they wanted for their wedding day. The rustic mountain lodge feel was exactly what they were looking for, and it was the perfect size for their smaller wedding. They wanted a more intimate venue that still had breathtaking views, and Taharaa Mountain Lodge fit the bill!

As for the size of their wedding, Kelly and Josh wanted an intimate gathering with 60 guests. They wanted their guests to really be able to experience Colorado and take time to explore this beautiful area.

Our on-site restaurant, Twin Owls Steakhouse, allows our couples to have exquisite and delicious meals that are customized to their needs. For their dinner, Kelly and Josh chose a menu of local specialties, including Elk and fresh Salmon. At the reception, guests raved about the food! Before the wedding, we work with our couples to create the perfect food and wine pairings and give their guests a world-class dining experience.
