Estes Park is a magical place to visit year round, however, the summer months have a wonder about them that draws people from all over to our valley. Our lodge is more than a lodge. We are a family and opening our doors and hearts to guests from all over the world truly fills our cup. A little about us:

Tucked away amidst the scenic beauty of the Rocky Mountains, Taharaa Mountain Lodge stands as a serene and luxurious haven for those seeking a memorable summer getaway. With its breathtaking views, comfortable accommodations, and an array of outdoor activities, Taharaa Mountain Lodge offers a truly unforgettable experience. For the past two decades, the Taharaa Mountain Lodge has offered visitors to the Estes Valley a relaxed, secluded getaway amidst the splendor of the Rocky Mountains. The original lodge was built in 1997 by Ken and Diane Harlan.

In 2019, the Taharaa was purchased by Sandra Huerta and Thad Eggen. Owners of the Twin Owls Steakhouse, Estes Park’s premiere fine dining and event destination, Sandra and Thad bring their decades of expertise to the Lodge, and so proud to have found such a spectacular new home for the Steakhouse.

The Twin Owls Steakhouse offers a world-class dining experience and is conveniently located steps from our lodging area. We take pride in our fine dining experience and aim to capture the perfect mountain dining experience whether you are hosting loved ones or enjoying an intimate evening out. A day in the mountains inspires an appetite – quench yours by dining with us at the Twin Owls Steakhouse. Our Favorite Summertime Activities Happening  During the Summer Months:

For adventure enthusiasts, Taharaa Mountain Lodge is an ideal base camp for an array of outdoor activities. Lace up your hiking boots and explore the nearby trails that lead to breathtaking overlooks and hidden alpine lakes. Head to Rocky Mountain National Park, just a short drive away, for a chance to spot wildlife, go horseback riding, or take a scenic drive along the Trail Ridge Road. For the adrenaline seekers, options like white-water rafting, mountain biking, and rock climbing are also within reach. Located right down the road from the Lodge is Lily Lake Trailhead! The Lily Lake Loop in Rocky Mountain National Park is an excellent hike for the entire family. This level, fully accessible trail, circles around the lake and nearby wetlands for just over three-quarters of a mile, and is conveniently located near Estes Park.

COWBOY SING-A-LONG-  SUNDAYS, MONDAYS, AND TUESDAYS THROUGH AUGUST 15

Join in on this fun (and free) summer mountain tradition with the very popular Cowboy Sing-A-Long with artist Brad Fitch! Event is held at Bond Park every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m., June 11-August 15.
 

4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS DISPLAY – JULY 4

Celebrate Independence Day with The July 4th  Fireworks Show!  Show begins around 9 p.m. over Lake Estes. Snag a patch of grass at Stanley Park, along the Lake Estes Trail or tap into your adventurous side and hike atop a favorite mountainside for epic viewing!
 

THE BIG BANG! CONCERT ON THE 4TH – JULY 4

In tandem with the fireworks show, you can catch the fireworks over Lake Estes while enjoying beer, wine, food and live music from Face Vocal Band! The Big Bang Concert takes place at the Grandstands with covered seating.
 

ESTES PARK VILLAGE AND PATRIOTIC CONCERT AT PERFORMANCE PARK – JULY 4

The Estes Park Village Band presents a free concert at Performance Park at 7 p.m on the Fourth of July. Traditional patriotic songs with local musicians and singers. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and a picnic basket, and enjoy this free outdoor concert.
 

ROOFTOP RODEO – JULY 5-10

Tap into your country side with this fun event for the entire family. This 6 day rodeo comes to town every year and doesn’t disappoint and features the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association best competitors, both animals & cowboys/cowgirls. Check out more information and tickets here.  
 

FIRST FRIDAY ART GROOVE – JULY 7

We are lucky enough that so many incredible artists call Colorado home! You can take a free tour of local art galleries and explore various locations. SNOWYGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL- JULY 14-16

We love live music and the 8th Annual SnowyGrass Music Festival will be held at Stanley Park (380 Community Drive). Presented by Upstream Concerts, the festival will feature Becky Buller Band, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Special Consensus, Molsky’s Mountain Drifters, Blue Canyon Boys, FY5, Chain Station, Ragged Union, Lost Penny, Brandywine & the Mighty Fines and Orchard Creek Band.
 

BLUE DOGS CONCERT AT PERFORMANCE PARK – JULY 15

Performance Park is Estes’ best kept local music secret! Grab a cozy blanket and find some grass to enjoy this free Performance Park concert! Known for their feel-good original songs, upbeat shows and blend of rock, pop and country, Blue Dogs blend their bluegrass soul with country-rock.
 

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HALF MARATHON AND 5K- JULY 28-29

If you are a runner at any level, this scenic option just outside Rocky Mountain National Park starts and ends by at the fairgrounds by Lake Estes. Options for a Rocky Mountain Half Marathon, 5K and Elk Double (Half Marathon + 5K)
